Daniel Waruri Kimotho is the founder of Meektrails Safaris and a professional safari guide with over 15 years of experience exploring Kenya’s wild landscapes.
Born and raised in Kamatu village in Nyeri County, Daniel developed a deep connection with nature and wildlife from an early age. His journey into the safari industry began as a field guide, where he spent years guiding travelers through Kenya’s most iconic destinations, including the Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Samburu, and Laikipia.
Through these experiences, he developed an exceptional understanding of animal behavior, ecosystems, and the rhythms of the African wilderness. And driven by a vision to offer authentic and memorable safari experiences, Daniel founded Meektrails Safaris. The Kenyan-owned safari company ensures personalized service, expert guiding, and meaningful connections with nature.
Daniel is also a passionate wildlife photographer and bird watcher. He likes capturing dramatic moments from the African bush and sharing the beauty of Kenya’s wildlife with travelers from around the world. Together with his wife, Phyllis, he continues to lead Meektrails Safaris with the same passion and dedication that inspired him to begin guiding many years ago.
